Why I Became a Doula

I have always been a nurturer and loved children but discovered my passion for birth when I was pregnant with my oldest. That pregnancy not only taught me about the unpredictability of pregnancy and birth but also taught me how to advocate for myself. After three high risk pregnancies, I have firsthand experience with many of the complications that may arise. I wish I had had a doula! 

This experience motivated me to get certified as a birth doula (and later become a childbirth educator) to help others advocate for themselves to have the best birth experience possible. Since then, I've been proud to be a part of Charlotte's doula community and can't wait to support you during your pregnancy and birth!

When I'm not at a birth, I'm spending time with my husband, three kids, and dog and enjoying our great city. I also love cooking and wine--I'm actually a certified sommelier. So if you have any questions about wine or just want to chat about it as a distraction, I'm your girl!
