Who is Haley Jasmin?

Beyond being a doula in Charlotte, NC, I am also a wife to my best friend and a mom to three kids who think their mom is the coolest because she is a doula. Before I became a doula, I owned a babywearing store, The Cozy Kangaroo. There, I became a Certified Babywearing Educator, helping over 1,000 families learn the art of babywearing with babywearing education. That experience helped me realize I wanted to do more to support families.

I am a southern girl who loves hiking through the idyllic North Carolina mountains, long-distance running and trying new local craft beers. When I'm not a doula, you'll likely find me out to eat with my family or friends, playing with our Golden Retriever, binging true crime podcasts or beating my Mario high score on my Nintendo Switch.

Hey there! I'm happy you're here! I can't wait to get to know you, but first, I'll tell you a little about me—

My Birth Story

Every birth journey is unique for every child. It doesn't matter if you're a first-time parent or a seasoned pro, each baby comes into the world in their own way on their terms. I often get asked about my birth experiences and how they helped me be a great birth doula. As expected, no two of my pregnancies or births were the same—they were about as different as they come.
Avery is the oldest of my three children. With her, my water broke, and after 21.5 hours of labor, she was born with the help of forceps. She was born in April 2012.

Less than 16 months later, in August 2013, our second daughter, Harper, was almost born in the car, but we made it to the hospital just in time, and I delivered her 100% naturally.

In July 2016, my son, Jonas, was born with Trisomy 21 or Down syndrome. We found out about his condition when I was 20 weeks pregnant and decided it was best to have him induced at 39 weeks so we could make sure he arrived safely at a hospital that could fully support him when he made his appearance. After a long day of labor, we found out Jonas wasn't strong enough to handle the pushing process, and he was born via emergency cesarean section.

My unique birthing experiences allow me to understand the importance of finding a path to parenthood that meets your family's needs. However, it is equally important to consider the medical information so that I can support your family in the best way. I'm driven by many talents, initiative, empathy and commitment, and I pride myself on providing unbiased information and judgment-free support. This trait is essential for any certified labor doula (in my humble opinion). While I can remain objective, I care deeply and am passionate about women having an amazing birth experience.

It doesn't matter if it is your first or fifth child—each birth story is different. Having support to guide you as you experience your journey is invaluable and can turn a potentially traumatic experience into a beautiful and magical one. My personal experiences fuel my passion for supporting families from birth to postpartum support.

Explore Doula Services

I received my Elite Labor Doula Certification, Elite Postpartum & Infant Care Certification, and Postpartum Placenta Specialist Certification from one of the world's most renowned doula certification companies, ProDoula. Shortly after, I opened the door to Uptown Doula in 2017.
Since then, I have been blown away by the Charlotte community. I am thankful for this community as Uptown Doula continues to grow. To meet the needs of new parents and their families, we now have a team of 13 incredible doulas to help you when you need it most.

In addition to birth and postpartum doula services, we also offer childbirth education classes, sibling doula help for older children, grandparent classes, a free support community, daddy doula services, placenta encapsulation and more! We even offer baby sleep consulting to help create healthy sleep habits for you and your newborn so everyone can get a good night's sleep and continue sleeping through the night.

In 2022, I advanced my passion for doula work by receiving my Postpartum & Infant Care Doula Training certification. Although I want to help as many new and expectant parents as possible, I am only one person and limited by both time and energy. By training doulas, I realized I could have a more significant positive impact on the lives of the Charlotte community. Not only that, but by offering virtual doula classes, I can train doulas anywhere in the world.
